Our production emphasizes the friendship between Shawn and Matt through their shared love of basketball. Their friendship mirrors the tumultuous relationship between Cleveland and LeBron James. The design team relied on truth and on keeping the characters grounded in each scene, while using transitions to show how much time has passed and to bring the audience up to speed on King James. The play is grounded in realism but at some point, a sort of magic happens between two people with a long history and relationship.
