Out of the Blue is a world premiere production based on articles by Lane DeGregory centered on the people who are using a wind phone in Tampa Bay, Florida. A wind phone is an art installation and a community piece intended for people to use an unconnected phone to speak to their loved ones who are no longer here. The play follows several people who encounter this phone and use it in many ways. All of them are seeking connection, purpose, and hope.

Concept
Our production was inspired by the energy that a wind phone creates, collects and attracts. The soundscape attempted to fill the world with the nature and energy of the people who have gone and the people who are still here. The wind brings the audience between each story and connects them since everyone is holding the same space. I was inspired by Japanese ambient music that bridges the gap between nature and music.
